The Square Screws Company was formed by leading UK tradesmen, who for many years had used the standard  Phillips and slot screws and became frustrated by the constant reaming, cam-out and damage to walls, fixtures and materials!

Square drive screws are not new, they have been used all over the world since 1908. The drivers and fast bits give a much longer life with no reaming or cam out. This ensures freedom from slippage, less damage to screw heads and your project, and easier removal at a later date.

The socket head screw (Robertson Screw) was invented by P.L. Robertson who opened a factory in Milton, Ontario in 1908.The major advantage of this screw is that, unlike a slot head or Phillips, the screwdriver can not slip out of the head during installation. The Ford Motor Company was the first major customer and used more than 700 Robertson screws on each body of its Model T car! The Robertson screw is now the number one screw in Canada and much of Europe.
